Faux Chenille Forest Friends

Yay, I finished another project!
The fabric I used for Emmett's backpack was the perfect fit for friends expecting.
I decided to use the fun print to create another faux chenille baby blanket!
I had lots of good help pinning the layers together!
Once again I used this tutorial method for creating this blanket.  I made my first faux chenille blanket back in 2012, my how the time flies!  I also made one 4 years ago for Emmett.  Anyway, it is very simple!
You layer your print with three flannel layers wrong sides facing and then quilt diagonal lines at 1/2 inch apart.  Simply cut through JUST the flannel layers in between each row of stitching, bind and wash!
This is the top layer of flannel.  I also had a brown layer and a blue, green and white plaid.
It doesn't matter what designs are pictured since you cut it all  and it gets super frayed.
Emmett loves to take pictures, so here I am cutting, cutting, cutting!  The little guy was a champ and slept in his wrap the whole time!
I used the brown flannel again for the binding.
I don't know if I mentioned it months ago but my little electric machine seen here had started groaning and wouldn't actually turn.  I finally got around to assessing the damage recently.  You know what, if you clean your machine regularly it does wonders!  Haha! Glad it wasn't a worse problem but I felt pretty silly when that was all it took.
So here it is all sewn and cut right before I washed it.
Isn't that a neat fabric print?!
And here is the after of a good wash and dry!
I love seeing the transformation!

It will get fuzzier and softer the more it is washed!  I didn't think I could share this week but we delivered the blanket 2 days ago and baby boy was born last night!  Hurray!
