Project 366- July 8, 2008

A whirlwind of a day and yet I sat and waited an awful lot. We arrived at Aunt Zelda's and got to sit and chat with the Manley's. I'm so glad that Trevor came. Quinn talks about him all the time and wondered when he'd see him again. I pray that they would all come to know the Lord. Aunt Sonja told me that Grandma Dallmann had a tattoo on her ankle, mom hasn't checked into that one yet;)

We were at the church at least an hour before the viewing there began. Cory and Trevor went and bought Skittles for the kids, Quinn was loopy after he ate those! I'm glad they didn't hit his system until after the funeral. The funeral itself was very good. Andrew and Seth both got up and shared. What a joy to know that Ted is now with the Lord in heaven, but how hard to see those closest to him hurting. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Whoa, did you know that funeral processions can run all red lights!? I didn't and it made me a little nervous. I'd never been to a funeral in a big town and I thought we were going to die a few times. This one guy wasn't paying attention at all and had to slam on his breaks to avoid hitting anyone!

After we finished eating our fried chicken;) at the church we went out to the heart hospital to see Uncle Gene. Kind of an uncle week! He was just taken down there today. As we were going to get on the elevator a nurse stopped us and said there was a tornado warning. That required us to be escorted into a nurse's lounge on the main floor. So fun! I'm glad it only lasted about 10 minutes.

We spent some more time with Zelda and Cayliss before heading out of Lincoln at 8:30pm. Yikes for late nights coming home. Brenna and I rode in my car and we had a blast. The fireflies were amazing. As we drove down Hwy 34 and looked out the side it was like a light show. I've never seen so many in my life!
