It is so exciting to be a part of our gardening this year! This morning while mom cleaned in the house, I went and hoed the corn, watermelon and canteloupe. I had to thin the corn too, now we're ready to plant the rest of the 5 rows. I still need to plant the carrots and radishes this week. I had a bi-weekly meeting at work today. We didn't eat this time so it was a little shorter and quick. It was a good meeting and I felt like I participated more. Brenna got a new swimsuit today, isn't cute:)? Alissa

When I get to work at 7:30am it takes me a few minutes to want to see anyone or talk to anyone. Usually I psyche myself up for it and after the first greeting it is no problem to see numerous faces come and go. Today was not so. I had a case of the "Monday blues." I wasn't necessarily sad, I just didn't really have any desire to make conversation and smile and be cheery and all. It was a good day to sit in the back office and enter mindless numbers into a spreadsheet. Amidst the dreariness of the mood a ray of sun shone through as I remembered some prayer requests for the day. I went on to pray for the patients in the waiting room and the ones who would be soon to arrive. It was a freeing type of prayer and I felt a little cheerier afterward. I went against my penny pinching wisdom and drove home for lunch. I'm so glad that I did. The kids, mom and I took a picnic lunch of tuna sandwiches out to the lawn. The sun was so warm that I just wanted to roll out of the c

Back to our church we go. It was slim pickins this morning or atleast it felt like it to me. Pastor Bob and his family are off in Europe for a few weeks. I'm so happy that they got the opportunity to do that all together. What a blessing it will be to them. Can I say again how great it is to have Amelia home again? I just love getting to see her more frequently. Praise the Lord for friends:) This picture is Quinn looking sad and dejected. I can't remember now why...maybe I told him I wouldn't carry him up the hill. We discovered that the thief also stole one of the fire extinguishers from the school. Arg. I scraped and scrubbed the floor for a few hours in the afternoon. Alissa

Ahh, Saturday! We cleaned today and cooked some too! Tonight was my BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! I invited the Hajdas, Uncle Dan and Aunt Beth and Grandma over for supper and dessert. We had such a lovely time together. Praise the Lord for friends and family who love and care about me. We ate burgers and hotdogs for supper, along with several salads. The kids had a splendid time running and playing hither thither. I think every time I saw the girls they had on a different dress up dress. Quinn and Peter however, hardly stirred from the Playmobil location:) I shared my pictures from the east coast trip with Amelia, Clara, Jacob and Tim. I love pictures:) It brings me such happiness to remember fun times. Lisa had found a new game at the city-wide garage sale today. She brought it along and some of us tried it out. Hmmm, it was an interesting game of Truth and Fib. Clara and I aren't very good at the fibbing part. I don't know that I'd ever want to play the game again, correctly. I did
