This morning came too soon. We were up at 5am and then had to wait in airport lines for atleast an hour. It was such a relief to finally get in and get some juice. We got to sit and watch part of the sunrise before getting on our flight. Hehe, I looked out the window as people were boarding our flight out of LA and noticed this man working on our plane. I felt bad for him when the screwdriver slipped and he hit his other hand with it. I've so done that before and it stings. Praise the Lord for another uneventful trip on planes. When we finally got around to finding our gate in Denver, we had a longer layover, we learned that we were flying on a "baby" plane down in the cellar:) It was funny! We didn't even get the cool extension hallways, it was out the door and up the stairs to the plane. Such fun and so good to be back in Nebraska. Haha, I thought it was a bit ironic to be back from LA and then have to drive through blizzard like snow to get home. Not what I was exp

Sunday. We got to enjoy worshipping together at Matt and Shilo's church. It was a good service and I really enjoyed it all. After church we went to Panera for lunch and Coldstone for dessert, delicious! I like ice cream!:) Sunday afternoon brought a movie at home and some Wii action, also more Balderdash. Now, I'm sooo not a video game person. I'm actually quite opposed to playing the stuff, but my friends made it fun. Winning probably made it more fun too. I still don't plan on ever owning one. So sad to think we have to leave tomorrow... and early too. I have loved the time spent with Shilo and with Matt. It will be good to be back home and away from the congestion of the city. Praise the Lord for a time with them and a place to come home to. Alissa

Now for a change of pace, today Cindie, Shilo and I went to IKEA. It is such a crazy big store and has sooo much. It wasn't until the very end that I found something I kind of wanted. It sent us back all of the way through the store only to find they didn't have any more:( So we strolled about in the shopping district of San Fernando Street/Boulevard/Whatever. Had some fun in the mirrors at Macy's, and grabbed burgers at In-And-Out. Good stuff. Shilo had three free movie tickets and we decided to use them for our Saturday night excursion. Unfortunatley, the movie we had decided to see was new and we couldn't use our free tickets to see it after 7pm. Weird, I know. Sooo, we went and saw something else. Actually I only saw about 20 minutes of it before I had to head to the halls, the bathroom, anything to waste the time. Not watching movies with blatant sin being portrayed as okay is one of my convictions. I got to call and talk to my mom though:) Alissa

Today's adventure came in the form of THE BEACH!!! Cindie hadn't seen the ocean before so this was a big day for her:) We packed ourselves a little lunch and the three of us drove off to Malibu Beach. There were atleast 40 surfers out on the water even though it was a bit chilly. I'm glad that the sun did come out for quite awhile after we ate. It was so fun to be carefree and splash around. I found some cute shells and Cindie and I discovered one of nature's toys. It is simply called seaweed! There are little bubble/bulb things that you can pop with your toes. SO FUN!! We went back to Matt and Shilo's after that and enjoyed a sweet, awesome game of Balderdash. It was nice to play with such smart people. Every definition sounded like a REAL definition! Hehe, mumblecrust, cagmag... Alissa

I spent last night at Cindie's apartment. It is sooo cute, I love the way she decorates! We pulled out of bed at a fairly good time and started our journey to sunny LA. We had a layover in Denver and made it to LA at about 1pm pacific time with no glitches. Praise the LORD! It was sooo super good to see my Shilo. I have missed her so much. We lived together for 2 years and then to go to this has been hard. I enjoyed having my best friend right next door! Hehe, it is still unreal to think of her having that big old baby bump:) After eating, we headed out into the "lovely" traffic to hit the Sunset strip. We parked and changed at a Denny's before walking a few blocks to Tribune Studios. Shilo got us tickets to the live taping of "Your Momma Don't Dance." It is a Lifetime show, sort of a spin off of Dancing With The Stars. It was interesting at times, but really didn't improve my opinions on the tv, movie, media industry. We had followed the dress code

Hurray for "vacation"! I drove out to Omaha this afternoon to see a couple of friends before my big trip to LA. It was such a nice day out. I actually ended up having time to kill before meeting with some girls so...I bought yarn and started knitting a sweater jacket:) Such a dork I am. I first got to meet up with Kat. We got a bite to eat and chatted for awhile. Then I went with her to a friend's first Mary Kay party as a consultant. I was so pumped when a parent I used to babysit for walked in to the party!!! It was so good to talk with her and hear how their family is doing:) I left the Mary Kay party a little early and met up with Maranda at Coldstone Creamery (yum!) for ice cream. We had a GREAT time chatting the time away. She is such a sweet, awesome girl. I'm so glad that we've been able to keep in touch. Our next outing is going to be ice skating! I praise the Lord for an opportunity to spend time with both Kat and Maranda. This is a shot of Maranda and I
