Project 366- July 3, 2008

We started out this day filled with life and projects. Dad and Travis actually came near to driving the tractor through the back door of the house. It was most exciting. They did succeed in moving the concrete slab and didn't go through the wall. I was supposed to work today...I thought. I got to the Garden Center and there was Clara, also getting out of her car. Turns out she came to work for me. Yippee!! We had other plans for today but them we got a call from Aunt Zelda. My great uncle, Ted, passed away this morning. Nix of other plans. Mom, Brenna and I headed down to Lincoln straightaway. My heart breaks for Aunt Zelda and Cayliss. We spent the evening helping out, cleaning the house and aiding as she made decisions. I'll miss Uncle Ted, I didn't know him exceedingly well, but just as well as I did my own grandpa. Alissa

Quinn built a new fort today. It was a pretty cool one, way out in the corner of the horse pen. Now, most of the horses don't pay any attention to the kids out there, at least not for very long. But, Doc is home and Doc is very personable and curious. He was almost IN the fort with Quinn and Brenna. Needless to say, they moved the fort out of the horse pen:) Ansel wore his Husker outfit today and so he matched Carrie at Bible study this morning. The babysitting was alittle crazy, but we were down one sitter. I love meeting with those ladies and getting to know them. Beth was there with Natalie and I got to hold her!! Such a precious little thing. Dan's, Grandma, Derek, Kayla and Jared all came over for supper tonight. We had one of the best family get togethers we've had in a long time! Kayla and Derek shared with us some of their pictures from Haiti. It is so good to see them being with Conleigh and Kenson. I hope and pray that they can bring them some very soon! We played

Summer time. Pool time. Daddy found the hole in the pool ring so we got it all filled up. Unfortunately, that means the water was super cold. Travis and Michelle took Ansel in for a dip, but it wasn't long before he decided the cold water just wasn't for him. We found a battered old kiddie pool and filled it with warmer water that he could play around in himself. When we moved here there was this little truck that had once ran on batteries, sometime since then we have inherited a second. The kids love those trucks and are always pulling each other around in them with a rope. Travis, our mechanic;), decided to try and get one to work...they did it!!! Hehe, they used a regular car battery so it tips over forwards if you don't have enough weight in it and Quinn has to bounce around sometimes to keep it going. So funny! Travis and Michelle ran to town for some things and took the opportunity to go alone. I got to feed Ansel and ended up putting him down for a nap. Finally there

I did have to work a bit today, even though the familia was visiting. I probably could have had it off, but I do still need a paycheck. So it was all morning at the Backbone. I got so much done since I had a deadline, a time I wanted to leave. I called and talked to insurance companies and even a lawyer who offered to raise some cane to get us paid. The calls didn't end up being too hard, but I still don't relish making such calls a lot. When I came home we spent the day chilling. Ansel is so much fun and soo cute! We do pretty good at not suffocating him or keeping him from each other. This afternoon I got the swimming pool mostly set up so we can play. Hurray! Alissa
