Friday! Friday's seem to be the crazy weather days as of late. Once again the day consisted of nice sunshine, then rain with wind, and last SNOW! It is May 2nd and we're having snow. So strange. I wasn't nearly as surprised when it happened in April. I worked the front office at Backbone today. Marci stayed home with Gracie, Gracie is sicky. It was a good day with lots to be done. By the time I left the wind was roaring, the rain was pelting and I just wanted to curl up with a fire and good book. Seth and Julia didn't arrive until about 9pm and therefore we didn't eat supper until 9:30! I was so famished. All I had for lunch was an orange and a salad. Hehe, I had to eat that salad with a letter opener:S I forgot my fork for my lunch and that is all I could find. My award winning photo was in the Nebraska Rural Electric magazine today!!! I'm so pumped!! I won their photo contest, the photo to be featured on their 2008 directory. The prize was a check for $100! Ya

Happy May Day! It was cold and WINDY today. I am beginning to think I'm a curse to the Garden Center. Everytime I work there the weather is icky. The sun did finally come out right before I left and it felt nice, but man that wind:S Mom dropped the kids off with me so she could go to an appointment. We went to pick out books at the library. Joan asked if we had celebrated May Day by making baskets and Brenna said know kind of confused like. Joan then asked if she knew what May Day was...Brenna shook her head know, with the confused smile still on her face:) The hillside and trees looked really pretty as the sun was setting. Alissa

It was a beautiful spring day. The kids had school outside. We ate lunch outside. I mowed the lawn...outside;) Our last Tag Team meeting was tonight until the fall. We had a great time. The kids got cupcakes to decorate and eat, of course. We did a review of all our stories this year. Man alive, Summer and Elizabeth were on a roll. I was amazed at the progress Elizabeth has made. Most of the time I'm not sure if she's even "with" us during story time, but tonight... The two girls were almost fighting over who got to tell what happened in each story! This picture is of Elizabeth. She was being goofy and wiggling around. So precious! Alissa

Today was a cleaning day. Seth and his girlfriend, Julia are coming to work on Seth's car this weekend. Hehe, we made cheese!! Using one gallon of milk you can make a pound of mozzarella cheese and it is EASY!! We made it today and it was so much fun, so easy and it turned out SO GOOD! I recommend everyone should try it sometime:) Mom kept laughing at me because I was so giddy about it, but I couldn't help myself. First you mix a bit of citric acid with water, add a gallon of milk, add a bit of renet and stir while it heats to 88 degrees. Let it sit 8 minutes and presto you have this big custard thing. Then you get to cut it up with a long knife while it jiggles about. This was by far my favorite part. Then you scoop out the curd, getting as much whey off as possible. Lastly you microwave it and play with it until it is good and stretchy. TADA MOZZARELLA! Alissa

Sethy is 20 years old today. It doesn't seem possible that he can be that old and that I'll be 25 this year. My how the years have flown. I got my office today!!! I really truly was able to just sit in the office and work...few interruptions! It was nice. The program we use was acting up a bit, but I think it is fixable. It made it really slow at times. Think, going from high speed back to dial up and you'll understand how it felt. We started watching Wives and Daughters again tonight. I love that movie and it makes entertainment for many days since it is so long. We get in later with the sun out so long and that doesn't give much time before bed when we want to watch something. Oh I love that movie. Molly Gibson is such a great character. Alissa
