Friends, Coffee and a Side of Encouragement

Image
Hurray for holidays which bring home friends from far away!!! It was been lovely to have Tori here for the past week. We got to enjoy one another's company at a Christmas party we hosted first. It was quite a fun time, with exciting word games to boot. Then I got to enjoy her company a second time when we had lunch with the lovely Miss Hajdas. I so much appreciate getting together and not having to "work" at conversation. We have known each other for so long that I don't feel like I need to make this HUGE impression on her. Today we got together, just the two of us. I was so sad that it turned out to be a cold and blustery day because it caused me to doubt my desire to come to town for this meeting. Silly me, it was so worth the time to wash my hair and zip on in by way of the Contour;) We met at Hazel's for coffee. I had yet to try out the newest coffee establishment in town, what an opportunity! It was SUCH an encouraging time together. I really wanted

Project 366 picture: This is the wall hanging quilt I'm working on right now. I was going to try and sell it, but decided I like it too much. This project is for a future wall in my dwelling place:) I can't believe it...I made it all the way through another year and I have 366 pictures to prove it! I hope you've enjoyed them all. Sometimes it was hard to remember to include them for you to see. I think in 2009 I'll just post periodically about life. Hopefully I can get nearly 365 up;) We spent our New Year's rather quietly. The option of a party was out there, but we were all too exhausted to party. Instead, we made some fabulous homemade pizza and watched my new movie. Travis and Michelle gave me the new BBC Jane Austen Persuasion. It was great! I worked on my wall hanging while we watched. Happy New Year!! Alissa

Worked this morning. Connie is in SD for the week. We were swamped. Saw an old "friend" which made my day. Now if I could just keep my mind from running like a mouse on a wheel. I had lunch with a few lovely ladies, Tori, Amelia and Clara. It was nice to sit down, chat and relax together. I enjoyed this yummy grape float. Project 366 picture: Tonight we opened gifts with Travis, Michelle and Ansel over webcam. So fun! You should have seen Ansel every time we'd call out his name. He'd look around for whoever was talking. Alissa
