Project 366- August 4, 2008



This sums up the beings in our house this evening. It is early to bed for little tikes who got up early. Brenna and Peanut started showing at 7:30am and ran into the day. Well, they didn't literally run into it, but you know what I mean:)

I had to work alone again. I did patient statements/billing/paper cuts most of the day. My days are messed up with out the others there. I usually can remember it's Monday because Connie is there and likewise Fridays because Marci is there. Oh to be an "I" and not mind spontaneity. Alas, I am not and so I clutch at the things that are constant. Thank you God for being the only one true constant.

I took my lunch break at the horse barns. Thank you to my "airport mother" for the lovely salad from Emily's:) It was scrumptious! I got to be there to watch Brenna in western pleasure and trail. I'm so proud of her, she's amazing.

After I got off work I went to the Catholic church. The wedding I'm singing at is there and I met Mr. B to run through the songs. It went just fine. Having Mr. B accompany me is a constant from my past. I don't need to worry about feeling out what the accompanist wants and such. Whew, that is one less worry.

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
