Project 366- August 5, 2008



Pig tooshie, tooshey, tooshy. Not real sure on the spelling of that one. We all had today off:) The kids, mom and I went into the fairgrounds and took care of Peanut in the a.m. Today was the open show for anyone. Brenna wasn't interested and I haven't ridden enough to justify possibly making a fool of myself.

I had a lazy day in between runs to town. I got my back worked over...wow is it gonna be sore! Once dad got off work and got the cow milked we came in to see the other animals at fair. Mom nearly snuck off with a cute little jersey. She was awfully precious! We also saw the swine, and I couldn't resist snapping a pic when mom pointed out their little pink, pig tooshies:) Haha.

We ran into a guy from the past! One of Travis's good friends from waaaaay back in the day. It was really good to talk with him, he's moving to BBow soon too! Travis and Michelle...that means another visit:) I love you guys and miss you like crazy:(

Finish It Up Friday...Scrappy Triangle Shag Rug

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! I'm Still Here!! Kim's Quilt

I have been missing in action here on the blog but for good reason! My husband and I sold our house at the end of June and moved to our unfinished basement in the middle of nowhere! We lived for 3 months among all our stuff(which is alot) as we pushed forward on building the house above us.  We are now upstairs, hurray! Although far from finished it feels so good!! Anywho, I still had a few quilting projects with deadlines to complete. Here is one! I kept out the few necessary supplies, my modern little New Home Janome, and made it work. First it was on/beside the bed in our little sleeping corner.  She picked a pattern from a few I suggested but in a forest green colorway. I loved the pattern as it was simple, straightforward halfsquare triangle blocks. They were fairly large, 9.5 inches and it went together so quickly! A great quilt for a less than optimal work space.
