God's Presence.

I'm loving our ladies Friday morning Bible study. I've been using it as my quiet time. This past week we looked at God's Ompnipotence. There you go, one of the "omni-" words you often hear when learning about God. I've heard it and known it the majority of my life. But I'm constantly amazed at the Spirit's revealing new things to my heart. I love having things I "know" in my head, translate to my heart and daily life.
Have you ever thought about the presence of God, that Jesus Christ is everywhere? Check out Psalm 139:7-12, you cannot go where God is not! Knowing that ALL of God, not just a part of Him, is EVERYWHERE, ALL the time is astounding. It was cool to remind myself of that as I went through my daily tasks. Mopping the floor, while moping about a "bad" day, I realized, "Hey, God's right here and He's helping me...STOP moping." Who is like Him? NO ONE!

    Have you read The Shack yet? While the book is not meant to be a literal interpretation of Scripture, it does have some great thoughts on the character of God. One of the big things I took away from it is how ever present God is in our lives, even in the midst of the bad things. The Shack tells the story of a father whose life is in shambles after his young daughter is kidnapped and murdered. The father receives a mysterious note from God, asking him to meet God in the shack where his daughter was killed. The meeting between God and the father is the focus of the book as the father struggles to relate to a God who allowed this terrible thing to happen to his daughter. There is a wonderfully vivid picture painted of God's presence with the daughter throughtout the kidnapping and murder; for me it just struck me how present God is but how often I discount His presence. The book is a great read if you haven't read it. I actually wasn't all that impressed right after I read it. But then as time when on and the things in it started to sink in, I really decided I liked it.

Finish It Up Friday...Scrappy Triangle Shag Rug

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
