The Silly Face Christmas Tradition.

So, I'm not really sure how we started this tradition. This was the 3rd year we've done it now. It may have started with mom's Christmas Blessing sign. Anywho...we decided it would be fun to put a framed silly picture of each of us in a Santa Hat, surrounding the Christmas Blessing sign.
Here are this year's winners: Haha, we're nuts! We spent yesterday snowed/winded in rather than going to my aunt and uncles. We actually watched IV, V and VI of the Star Wars movies:S It was a nice day of just hanging out. It even brought out some readers;)
I did venture into town this afternoon to visit with a few friends. Mom had me drop off some library books...I had to climb through a drift to return them to the drop off:I

    No Seth and Julia photos? I'm assuming they are still at your house since I 80 just opened back up at 6 and is only one lane on each side in spots. Anywho...we've eaten way too much stuff, watched way too much tv, played way too many games of Don't Break the Ice, and spent way too much time on the computer. Ready to go outside...hopefully we'll go home tomorrow. Derek and Dad went to town for milk and pull ups earlier today so I guess some of us dug our way out.

Finish It Up Friday...Scrappy Triangle Shag Rug

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
