Sewing for Haiti.

There are always others hurting. We know that through all that goes on around us and also in ourselves. We all know times of hurt. The people of Haiti have been on my heart ever since the earthquake that shattered their world two months ago tomorrow. Anyone who knew much about Haiti before the earthquake realize how bad it was already without that disaster.
Anyway, it is so good to be able to help those who are hurting. I am only one person and there are so many hurting.
Hehe, I won a little wooden sign at Bunco that says "Because Nice Matters" and I hold to that statement. God's Word shows us that we are to show kindness...even to our enemies and those who persecute us. Some days it is harder than others to even just be simply civil. Christ lives in me and so I can show kindness.
Can you guess what I'm doing to help a few Haitians? :)
Hehe, I am sewing. Someone sent me this link to a post by Haiti Rescue Mission. Sewing is something I can do:) And so I am learning how to make something new...not purses or quilts.
Hehe, DIAPERS!!
I made the blue one first and mom laughed. Hehe, it wasn't because I did it wrong. Rather, it is a rather large diaper. But, hey big babies need diapers too ;)
The next few were on the smaller side. The stuffed frog was nice enough to model one for me.
I am also making little "pillow case dresses" to send. My mom went to visit a friend a few weeks ago. She was sent home with a bag of 6 or 7 twin size sheet sets. That didn't give me very many pillow cases to use so I cut up the sheets as well and made them into the proper size to resemble a pillow case.
The three on the left are the dresses. The one on the right is actually an apron for the helpers to wear. I've accomplished 3 diapers, 7 dresses and just the one apron...
...for now:)
