My dear friend, Cindie has spring break this week. We were long overdue for a get-together. Soooo, that means HISTORICAL MARKER HUNT!!
Saturday was National Quilting Day. I took it off from work, my family was going to be away and I was going to quilt, quilt, quilt. Alas, plans change. I had to go into work for someone, my family was sick at home and I did not get to do any quilting. Well, Tuesday was the first day of spring and I DID get to celebrate by being out in it.
Cindie was driving up from Kansas and I was driving to meet her about 4 hours away. It was a lovely day for a drive. I saw the sunrise and later on the sun dogs. Do you see them on the sides?
The part of the state we headed to has more of a problem with yucca plants where as we have cedar tree invasion.
I decided this house is the Douglas house from Green Acres, hehe.
I hit a few of the markers on my way down to meet up. Here is an extra!! Woot, woot!
Sighting number one of the watchful eyes of the prairie.
Isn't this the type of decor you want at the end of your driveway? :)
Sighting number two. Don't worry, their were no attacks. We're on good terms.
Yay, I knew I was nearly there when the mile signs only listed towns in Colorado and Kansas. Can't go much farther and still be in NE!
As I pulled into Haigler I looked at my phone to see if Cindie had called. Suddenly I realized that I forgot about the time change, I was now in mountain time! I had failed to take that into consideration when making my plans.
I couldn't get a hold of Cindie. So, will I find her or will I spend an hour in Haigler, NE which I'm afraid isn't much anymore? Dun, dun, dun. I know you're on the edge of your seats!
