Nesting Dolls QAL Complete!

Several months ago I picked up a few fat quarter sets from Walmart.  They are nesting dolls and such fun, bright colors.  I had also seen a quilt made by another blogger from a Quilt A Long.  I found my way to the original person and bookmarked the link. I really liked the way the blocks were different styles and sizes.
I decided that the coordinating prints in the fat quarters from Walmart would be perfect for this quilt.  At some point I did realize that the 3 sets I had bought would NOT be enough.  I was sad to find out you couldn't purchase more online.  My mom was kind enough to look when she went out of town. (The nearest Walmart is an hour away)  Yay, for moms!  She found more :)
Here is the result:
I had also seen on another blog, a method of quilt-as-you-go piecing.  You took each individual block and quilted it only to the batting.  It was a  WONDERFUL way to use up the numerous pieces of batting that aren't big enough for even a small wall hanging.
You then pieced the blocks together to make your quilt top.
You layer it on your backing fabric and simply quilt in the ditch!  I did add some other quilting to the larger areas to hold it together.
I really like this paper-pieced block.
And this big block reminds me of the swoon block.
Here is my completed project.

The back was a bit tricky.  I had lots of little triangle cut-offs that I turned in to a chevron/zigzag piece.
Hurray for fun finished projects :)
