Down The Road Again!

Mom needed a planning day for the upcoming school year recently.  I had the day off and she asked me to take the kids away for the day.  I didn't want to have to spend any money or go very far. Sooo, we opted for a nature adventure.
We returned to the pretty/skunk road and went further up and further in...
The road was really overgrown, it looked a lot different from the time we were here a few months ago.
We packed our lunch and headed out with no time restrictions.
I pointed out lots of different plants.
We visited Mr. Cicada here.
So much to see!
We stopped where we ended our last adventure to eat our lunch.
I brought our North American Wildlife book and we figured out the names of some of the things we had seen.
One thing was bind weed.  Brenna was showing off her new found knowledge!
The further down the road we went the sandier and whiter it became.
Soft, white sand that belongs on a beach.
There was a slight hill here, it made me think of the white sand in the Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea movies :)
We had two backpacks and a bb-gun.  There was a lot of trading and shuffling of who carried what.
What a beautiful day it was for a walk.  All the days around it were hot, hot and this one was overcast and cool.  The sun peeped out a few times and made us sweat for a minute or two, but overall it was wonderful!
Watch out that big tall weed might get you!
It was like a little bit of heaven, being out there.
And...there is more!

  1. Is this off the road that climbs east out of Berwyn? I love driving that road, it's so pretty!
