Blessed and Challenged

I am so blessed!!
I'm not usually one whose social calendar, or any calendar is very full.
So far this year the LORD has filled it and blessed it.  It has been good in more way than one.  I'm not tempted to fret over loneliness or being left out and I don't have so many hours on my own to over-think certain aspects of my current situation.
Twice I was able to see my dear, Tori!  Yes, the second was very short but it was a blessing nonetheless.  Isn't she beautiful?!
This week I got to spend wonderful time with Shilo.  I feel honored to be a part of her family's team during this time in their lives.  She truly is my sister!
Hehe, time with her involved much of her extended family.
And Duck, Duck, Goose on Pizza Hut floor with her children :)
 And my cup runneth over...
Kristen is here for one last stretch of time before marrying off in England.  It is a time I will treasure for years and years to come.  Last night we sewed together, laughed, got ice cream and just enjoyed time.
Blessed am I, blessed am I.
Along with life's blessings come the challenges!
Isn't that wall of clouds awesome?  I met it on my way to work the other day.  You know, one of those lovely, blustery days we've had lately.  It blew the clouds right in, and then out again and in... ;)
I am memorizing James this year and working on chapter 1 right now.  It has challenged me several times.  Aw, the truth of God's word.  Today's challenge:
"If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.  Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."  James 1:26-27

  1. Love James. Probably my favorite book of the Bible. There's a Beth Moore Bible study on James that we did last year at church. I only did about half of it before I couldn't keep up (her studies take like 45 minutes each day to do) but part of it was memorizing the book and I was surprised by how much I already had memorized. So glad your days are full. Makes this cold winter go faster!

  2. Liss! It was SO much fun to see you twice and just be home and breathe a sigh of relief in good ol' broken bow! I do very much miss being closer and spending time with you...people that actually have known me for years...and not just months here (and I'm the foreigner who is temporary and can't talk well in their eyes). I am SO glad you have been able to spend quality time with Kristen during this season before her marriage--what a blessing!!!!!!!!!! I hope definitely to see you sometime in the near future--who knows...Kristen's wedding...? You will be on this side of the pond...and actually not too very far from me. We should just remedy this situation.

    With LOVEEEEEE

  3. I love my "known for years" friends. Can you believe we've known all known each other for more than half of our lives?!?! Love you, Alissa!
