Finish It Up Friday...Sugar and Scraps

I finished it last month, but here is my final Sugar Block from 2013.  This one was another paper-pieced block called Star of Wonder.
Sunday I got in some MUCH NEEDED sewing therapy. I finished putting together my Sugar Blocks with this fun floral sheet for sashing.
I tried adding a yellow border around it, but nothing looked quite right.  I took it back off and am currently in the process of quilting it on my treadle.  So, this week's finish it up is only the quilt top.
It measures in at about 44 x 58.
I also possibly finished another quilt top on Sunday.  I have cut a HUGE amount of my scraps into 2 inch squares.  I have a picnic basket full of squares and I have begun to piece them into 10x10 square blocks.  This is what I had Sunday when I grabbed the blocks to see how many I had.
I decided to break up the scrappiness with a solid sashing between the blocks.  I love how it turned out.  Now the decision is...add another outer border in a bright color or leave it as it is.  What do you think?

  3. I think because you added he sashing that another boarder would trim it out nicely.
