Finish It Up Friday...Kilts, Kilts, Kilts

A friend at work bought a set of bagpipes.  Why, I have no idea.  I told him that he had to have a kilt if he has bagpipes.  So, a kilt I made!
The offer to make him a kilt brought on "orders" for 3 more kilts.  I love the people I work with!  I bought some decently priced plaid material online.
I did not worry about going with official tartan or anything.  I used this youtube video to help me out.  I added belt loops on the front and back.
The pleats are hard to see with it simply laying on the table.  Maybe I'll get a picture of it on the wearer later ;)  I used two buttons for a closure.  It will allow him to grow a bit if he needs.
I put in a bit of velcro on the inside flap to keep it from sagging.
I love the pleats!  I sewed each pleat down at the top.
Yay! This was a fun project.
Now it is on to the next three :)

  1. Wow - that many quilts is a serious undertaking - I hope they all wear them together at some point it would be amazing!
