And The Work Goes On!

It seems like forever ago that I was working away at completing my kitchen floors.  People continue to ask how the house is going.  I have also discovered most people think I'm already living there.  Not yet.

 The tin on the left is the way it came, shiny, shiny.  The tin on the left I "aged" with toilet bowl cleaner.  Crazy science experiment right there!
 Dad and I had a lot of "fun" with this wall.  The studs are in there...somewhere...we think.
 We've put in a lot of hard work ;)
 The special rust primer looks as bad as the rust did.

 Hurray! The sink is in, the hot water is functioning!!!
 The latest project has been getting these doors in.  I bought them over a year ago when I thought I might be buying a different building.  They are so cool!! I have five in the house!!
 A couple of wonderful things have slowed down the house project.  First, I spent part of a week at primary camp again this year. SOOOOOO awesome!  God is so good and these kids were so wonderful!  We had lots of fun!
 I was a dorm leader/counselor alongside some fabulous women!
 Not only did we do fun things and enjoy different activities, but we got to share Christ with these kids.  What a privilege!  Praying for the impact it will have on their lives!

 After camp it was home for a week of evening VBS!  I taught the Bible lesson each night to the different classes and was blown away by them.  They were attentive and excited to find out what happened next and to learn their verses.  So amazing to hear little ones hiding God's word in their hearts :D!!
Summer is flying by!  Hope yours is blessed!

      Thanks! Yes, I brushed on The Works and it foamed, left it for 5-10 minutes and then washed it off.

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
