Finish It Up Friday...Brenna pack, Wallet and Fall!

I finished my second backpack a few weeks ago! My little sister wanted one for her art supplies that she takes everywhere with her!
On a side note...how can my baby sister be turning 19 next week?!?!


I didn't have any bias tape that went well with the fabric she chose so I did a more traditional flip inside out method for putting it together.
I love these little buckles! So easy to put in!
I added some extra inside pockets to her bag. Planned on doing the same to mine but haven't got around to it!
While working on bags and switching I once again realized how dingy my wallet was getting to be. So I searched through my old blog posts and found once again the tutorial I used to make it and made another one!
 I once again added a zipper pouch on the back for coinage. I did however accidentally put it on kind of upside down but it will still work!


 Hooray for a new wallet and one that won't show the dirt quite as bad!
 This year has flown by! We've been having lovely fall weather but last Sunday we had a spurt of winter! Woke up to about 2 in of snow and it was cold! I was surprised the snow stuck around as long as it did.

 I may have to take down my rain gutter decoration for the winter as you can see it kind of ends up being an icicle trap! Made me giggle!
The sun is back and I think we'll enjoy a few weeks of more fall weather before more snow!

I absolutely love walking through the leaves on the sidewalk as I go to work! I kick them up and giggle every time! Makes me want to take them up and jump right in! Happy fall and happy Friday!

    I am so glad that fall came back after mother nature had her little snow tantrum haha. Love your new wallet, I'll have to check out the tutorial! I bet your sister is getting lots of use out of her new bag.

    Love the backpack and especially the wallet. I've looked at quite a lot of wallet tutorials, they always look quite straight forward but I fear that working with lots of layers might be difficult to make neat. Is is at hard as it looks and do you have any tips?

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
