Quick Action Curtains!

We had a taste of winter's cold temperatures earlier this week before it warmed up nicely! I was however reminded how cold my sewing room gets. It really felt like some of it was coming from the windows. I know we can cover the outside with plastic and we probably will but this first fix is more attractive and fun!😁
I made some curtains! And...I did it fast and with minimal planning! Hurray for me!
I can't help picking up clearance fabrics now and then. I also am not too picky about name brands and such. So when I see 2 yards of canvas fabrics at Walmart for $5, I get some! It paid off this time!!
I found this brown fabric in just such a manner. I cut it into four pieces to make four fabric panel curtains! I know they don't cover the whole window but it really helped the temperature!
The pieces weren't quite long enough either so I added in a strip of this tablecloth fabric! It is one I used at my little house that was once my mom's. It has a few rips and even a patch on it. Time for a new purpose!!
I like the way they turned out! And how funny that both fabrics were Waverly Fabrics! Haha, just a few decades between there making!!
Glad to have a finish!

  1. I love to see someone making do” ! Just like Grandma would have done it! Great idea to repurpose your mom’s table cloth! Now all you need is a small space heater for your toes! Toasty!

    1. I love repurposing this way and using things from my stash...it is a bit big. Heater is there, I try to hold out until cold weather is here for a long stretch!😁
