Beautiful Batik Treasure
Today's finish is yet another treasure from my last online auction sewing haul! Haha, this haul will be giving me projects for years to come.
Anywho, while I was pregnant I once again went through the stuff and I discovered the previous owner had purchased a monthly quilt project from a local quilt shop. I layed it out, kept digging and was excited to see that all of the remaining months shipments had been made. It was all there!!
This is what she had completed of this Botanica Park batik quilt by Wing and a Prayer design. It is a big quilt! I jumped right in to continuing the project!
I have never purchased one of these quilts that send you new fabric and instructions every month. It was really kind of nice since I am in sewing room limbo. Hehe, my helper wanted in on a picture!
I call this machine Aunt Gladys. At that point I had her propped up on my long arm table and could look all the way through our entryway to the living room to keep an eye on squirt.
Haha, and if you look down you can see my pregnant belly!
Anyway...i finished the top and then let it set most of last year. I just wasn't sure where to go with it. Our queen size bed sits on the floor so it was too big for us. I just decided to wait.
For Christmas I had another project for someone and I did think of it as an option for them if it fell through. So, I went ahead and pieced the backing out of several purples and got it quilted!! Hurray!
Finally it came to me a few weeks ago, where it should go. I finished the binding and took a few pictures and sent it off this week. Hoping it is loved!
The snow is now gone, hurray for spring snows!
So pretty!
