A Kitchen Island In Green
I miss having something quilty finished to blog about! We have officially lived in our house, as we build, for 2 years now. I guess I can just show some of our progress there instead.
I will start with the kitchen island which we finished at Christmas but better late than never! Haha! Our cabinets were being built by an Amish friend but I wanted to paint the island so we just bought some stock cabinets from Menards.
My big helper loved painting the side panels with me. Green is the accent color I have chosen for our kitchen.
We got two cabinets, spaced apart to make room for a book shelf.
There were still slabs that matched the other counter top. They are blued pine. I love that we could leave a live edge on one side
Tada! The handles match the other cabinets and I really like them.
I had fun wallpaper left from the pantry freezer so I added it inside of the three drawers.
And lastly, here is the back. We left enough overhang for a few bar stools eventually. We backed it with Western red cedar.
Loving this kitchen feature!!
