Bunco...Christmas Style, And Sewing Distractions

We had a Christmas Party of sorts for Bunco in December.
It involved A LOT of food:)
There were some sweet guest appearances by Bob and Fred.
Harriet came to play as well.
Like I said...there was A LOT of food. Karen was lamenting the consumption of something;)
Now, usually only 6 people win prizes. We decided to have everyone bring a prize. There weren't any guidelines given for these prizes which made it all the more fun!
Lisa had to help Tami on with her prize!!
Mom got more Scentsy. Hurray!
Here are two of the prizes that were had! Clara knitted those little snowmen, ADORABLE!
I received a lovely ceramic Christmas bowl, but I failed to get a picture of said bowl.
Here is the prize I brought. I made it using some frames that we found at my grandma's.
I was quite excited for it, because of how well I feel it turned out:) Karen won it and said it matches the colors in her bedroom quilt!!

That was one of my small distractions from finishing the Joann's contest quilt.

I made stockings for my good friend Shilo and her little family:)
Don't worry though, in the wee hours of this morning I finished the binding on my contest quilt. Now it is off to work, then home to take the quilt pictures and prepare them for mailing.
I suppose after that I should pack...we are driving to Nevada tomorrow!

    Love the stockings! What a nice gift to give to a newly married couple, even though that isn't how you did it for Shilo. The best part of that would be that if you did two as wedding gifts, you would easily have a gift for every baby that followed.

Finish It Up Friday...Scrappy Triangle Shag Rug

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
