The Sweater

I was so excited to be done with all my projects for our trip to Nevada. I found a pattern and bought some yarn to knit myself a sweater.
It was a perfect project for the long car ride.
After many hours of Bleak House on my mp3 player I was coming right along.
By the time we got home I had half a sweater done!
I continued to work on the project after we returned and slowly but surely was getting somewhere until...
...I ran out of yarn. I was this far into the project:
The silly sweater was missing only a cuff.
This yarn cost more than I would normally spend and I have no desire or funds to go buy more.
Alas, upon re-trying it on I discovered it really was a bit too tight:S
And so, this is my sweater now:
Perhaps someday soon I'll be inspired to try making it into something else:)
I did finish one knitting project though.
This was Brenna's Christmas present, my first felting project.

    I almost cannot look at those formerly-a-sweater balls of yarn! At least you were listening to my favorite book while you were knitting, so your time wasn't wasted! ;-) And I love Brenna's felted ballerina!! I love felting.

    I have had this happen many times!!! Actually it seems like it happens on every project that I get it started and have to wind it up in a ball again since it's not the right size!!! It did look awesome though good job! The dolly is very cute, I haven't tried felting yet, did you get the pattern online?

Finish It Up Friday...Scrappy Triangle Shag Rug

UPDATE: Several people have asked about this rug. One specifically asked about how I folded my prairie points. So here are some step by step pictures.  I started with a 4 inch square. Fold that square in half diagonally.  Fold the point up away from the fold at the center towards the other side.  Fold the other side up across in the same way. A friend sent me a picture on facebook of a rug. It was a cute rug she saw at a newborn photography class. I took on the challenge of recreating that rug. I was a bit surprised to not find anything like it online.  I did finally find a variation of prairie points to use when folding and ironing.  I did a lot of folding and ironing.  I took 4 inch squares folded them in half and then folded the sides overlapping to create more of an acute angle to the triangle. Finish It Up Friday...Pink Triangle Shag Rug!

I made this scrappy rug back in 2016 for a childhood friend who does fabulous photography! Check our her work: www.katrinaleephotography.com  or on Facebook . She was able to put it to use for this precious baby photo shoot!  After she posted it another friend of mine saw it and requested a pink, cream and gray rug for her coming granddaughter!  Thanks so much for the shoutout Katrina! It was already a week or so into January and she wanted it by February 1st...so I got crackin'!  You can see how I made the first one HERE .  It is fun to see these last photos in a row and watch it grow.  I'm not a big pink fan, but I did end up having plenty of pinks for this rug.  Not having to go buy fabric sped up the process.  I want one for myself now! Hello, Jellyfish Wedding Quilt

My babiest brother got married in March! So crazy! So happy for them! They were planning to get married this coming August but decided to just have a small courthouse wedding earlier. I thought I had time to get a wedding quilt made but not with the change. I asked for their preferences and got started. Request: he likes green, she likes pink and wanted some jellyfish. Here are the fabrics I went with, plus white and teal rocks. I found another quilt I liked on SuzyQuilts website. It was a bit more of a modern pattern, which I thought fit my sister in law a bit better. Ready, set, go! These pictures are a little out of order, oops!   I tried just figuring the pattern out myself so I wasn't sure how my measurements would come out. It came out really long! I ended up trimming part of the top and bottom as well as adding a vertical border. Simple blocks! I am feeling so much better about the tension of my quilt parts on the rollers. It gave me the confidence to try a new design! Yay!
