Finish It Up Friday...Star Wars Lego Birthday Gift!

I started this project over a year ago.  A Star Wars Lego quilt for my little brother.  I LOVE IT!!
I finally finished the quilt top last Friday.  A lot of late nights this week and I finished it just in time for his 12th birthday!
I bought 3 yds of Star Wars blue print fabric to use for backing and I ended up using it as sashing also.
All 9 figures are paper pieced by my made up design.
It made my brain hurt at times.  I finally decided to just do the heads for the final three blocks.
This is the first one I made, Hans Solo.  I used a Lego man pattern I found online to get started.
My little sister helped me out with embroidery faces.

I did simple straight line quilting within each block.  I didn't do anything in the sashing.
He likes it, although his fake grumpy face says otherwise ;)
Such a fun finish!!

  1. Wow, that's an amazing quilt! I'm sure your star wars fan son will love it for years to come.

  2. So cute. Boys do love quilts like this.

  3. Such a one of a kind quilt! You are such a good sister!

My son (age 35) or my younger daughter (age 29) would both love this quilt! Congratulations on a great and creative job!
