WIP Wednesday...Remember The Farmer's Wife Quilt
So I started my Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt 5 years ago...
Wow, time sure goes by fast! I hand pieced all my blocks and there they have sat.
I loved looking through them again recently!
In the last year or so I've even bought sashing material and now have them almost all hand pieced into rows! Yesterday I pulled them out of a basket of UFO's and found some cornerstone fabric and setting triangles as well!
So much color, so much variety. There are only like 111 of these things ;)
Now they all are sitting in my cute little work basket waiting to be sewn together some more!

You've hand-pieced a farmers wife??!!! Color me impressed!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It really wasn't too bad. I went through my scrap basket to find the colors I wanted for each block and then took them along in the car and such with the templates. They came together a lot faster than I thought. I just haven't picked it up in quite awhile :)
DeleteI feel ya, Alissa! I'm right there with you. I did put the project on my UFO list for 2017, so I do really believe that I will get the quilt top constructed - at last! - this calendar year. Now as for when it will get quilted, that is anybody's guess! I love your blocks! Mine are machine-stitched, and I didn't do them all. I still have more than half, though, and it will be a very pretty quilt. Looking forward to seeing yours come together!
ReplyDeleteIf you set your blocks on point, you can still have a decent sized quilt with fewer blocks ~ maybe that would be the way to go for you?
DeleteHappy sewing ~ Tracy
They will be laid out on point, it will end up queen size. I made some headway on it last weekend!
DeleteWow hand pieced! That's awesome, can't wait to see it all put together!
