Baby Shell Quilt

Sometimes I buy fabric I don't need! Haha, feels good to get that off of my chest!!🤣🤣
I bought two charm packs at some point. Not sure where, no idea what "line" or anything. I am not a brand person!
I found a pattern in the 2007 February issue of American Patchwork & Quilting that used scrappy squares.  It called for them to be cut into 3 inch squares, I figured that would be close enough and just altered my plans for 2.5 inch squares.  It was an easy enough adjustment!
The harder part was deciding which color to go with for the solid fabric.  I wanted to make it a gender neutral color and my stash was limited at our limbo house.  I went with this yellow!
Shortly after starting I found out a sweet new friend was expecting a baby!  Hurray, a purpose for my quilt!
I will admit, the yellow makes it a pretty vibrant quilt!
I enjoyed having a project, and not a huge one to work on when I stayed home from our logging/calving winter last year!  The top went quickly and then we moved!  I added an outside yellow border to give it a little more size and then backed it with a yummy gray minky!  Man, that stuff is so soft and cuddly!  I didn't want it too bulky to wrap around a baby so I went without batting this time!
I made it for either boy or girl, but it is indeed going to be for a baby girl!  It was a joy to make and a joy to give!  Can't believe she'll be here in just a few short weeks to cuddle with!!💓💓💓
