Embroidery For Baby Leo

Somehow I missed getting this finish posted although it was delivered months ago! Better late than never!
I purchased this embroidery baby blanket kit probably 10 years ago. My siblings were headed to their homeschool basketball tournament and I ended up in hobby lobby with time to burn.
Hehe, I bought like three different kits that day!
I didn't get it started until a few years ago.  I didn't know where it would end up but I needed a hand project and it resurfaced.
It is a fun little design, I really like the animals! The embroidery is simple and went quickly. Once I finished i wanted to give it something more. The background fabric isn't anything real special.
I happened to have a piece of aqua fleece floating around so I decided it would do the trick. I did a simple stitch and flip before adding some simple tie stitches to hold her in place.

Shortly after I finished it, one of the sweet homeschool basketball girls from that same tournament team had her first baby! I thought it was quite fitting to pass this along to her and baby Leo. So precious!

  1. That baby quilt is stunning. So much work and love went into it, I'm sure. The fleece backing was a great choice.
