Someone Else's Scrappy Finish and A Sewing Machine Repair

Almost 2 years ago, as I was awaiting the arrival of our little guy, I dug into another unfinished project found in my great online auction haul of 2023.
It was very scrappy with a mellow, yellow background.  I can't even remember how much was finished but it had a ways to go to be complete.  The parts and the fabric were all there along with the printed off instructions.  It came from a quilting magazine and had a nice story about the lady who designed it.  She finished the quilt for the magazine while she was waiting for one of her babies to be born.  How very fitting!
I put it the quilt sandwich together last week and got it quilted!
She has fun mitered corners and is a large queen size.  I had a few purposes for finishing it up, our quilt i made when we got married is coming apart after 7 years of constant use and my long arm hasn't been working.  I took the machine into a sewing machine shop in the area and it was going to be 6 months out so I got on the list but kept it at home.  It is a 96-87 Singer that someone put on a set of rails, so it is old and very heavy!

I have had issues with it since I got it.  It just wasn't consistent when it would work and when it didn't.  I thought perhaps a servicing would help.  I decided to get it out, get a quilt ready and see if I could figure it out. I have tried a lot of things but I could not nail the problem down. Was it the wrong needle? Was it the wrong bobbin? Was the tension off?
As you can see, the quilt is successfully quilted with a fun meandering pattern. I FIGURED IT OUT!!!! HOORAY!!! Super happy dance followed that moment!!!
So there is a little tension wire above the tension disc. In an online manual I found a section on some repair items like fixing your timing etc. Well, that spring had gotten rotated too far to the left. A few tweeks to the right with a screwdriver and I was in business. Oh, I am so excited by this!!!
So, here is the quilt that helped me fix Miss Vivian!! I don't love it. Haha! My husband thinks I am crazy! But something about the yellow isn't my favorite but it will hold a special spot in my heart for it's job in the process.

And here is a fun shot of noodle making with my boy's! Such fun!
